There is a small group of islands in the western Pacific ocean. The Western Caroline Islands are a chain that make up part of the Federated States of Micronesia. In the middle of the FSM are the Yap islands. The island of Yap is one of the least know and most magical dive destinations on earth. Yap is Micronesia Undisturbed.
Yap is our favourite Pacific Island, but Palau also has so much to offer We call Yap- “Micronesia undisturbed”, and Palau, “The Micronesian Adventure”. No Micronesian dive holiday is complete without a visit to Palau and Yap.
Palau is one of the world’s must see global dive destinations, with dozens of dive sites, coral covered walls and corners where the currents attract sharks, Eagle Rays, Manta rays and pelagic fish. Palau also has plenty of WWII freighter and plane wrecks. From macro life to schooling sharks, Palau is am impressive destination.
Yap Island has been made famous by its resident schooling Manta Rays. But there is so much more to Yap than these stunning creatures. Yet people come from around the world to dive with Manta rays. Yap now plays host to a large selection of sharks. Grey Reefs, Silver tips, Mako’s White tipped reef sharks and black tipped reef sharks. Mandarin fish abound, and small shallow wrecks of Japanese aircraft add to the whole picture. Finally there are reefs of gorgeous hard coral kilometres long in 50m clear blue water.
YAP AND PALAU ITINERARIES:
Due to the remote nature of Yap we recommend a four day all inclusive dive holiday to Yap and a week long half board dive trip to Palau. This ties in nicely with the flight timings. We are happy to book your Manila-Guam-Yap Palau- Manila flights.
If you wish to dive Palau only, a 10-14 days dive vacation is the thing to do. With scenic flights, island tours and so much more, Palau is easily accessible on a variety of different airlines.
