Join us on our Guided Journey to Tanzania 2019
Tanzania is the most authentic of African nations. The best time to see the movement and conglomeration of wild animals is in the dry season. The best way to experience this is in a combination safari between smaller friendly, but high-quality lodges and under canvas in classic tented camps. Explore dry river beds, wait for elephants to pass through, and be waited upon with a gin and tonic at the end of a dusty day. Cross the iconic plains of the Serengeti, and catch a glimpse of a lion on top of a kopje at sunset. Experience the thrill of seeing a cheetah hunt at 70mph, and be awestruck by the herds of wildebeest and zebra waiting for their movement order to the next water hole. The little things, such as insects, birds and lizards make up the framework of this incredible ecosystem. Our guides will not simply chase the larger game, they take the time to explain how the entire natural world is interconnected.
Zanzibar: Land on the island of spices, over turquoise waters and tropical reefs. Zanzibar is truly an Indian Ocean island paradise steeped in the history of trade. The wooden dhows that ply the Swahili Coast and land at Zanzibar used to go sail as far away as Arabia, Indonesia and China. The beaches of northern Zanzibar offer the perfect relaxation after a dusty safari. The diving is packed with macro creatures, colourful reefs and is a photographers’ heaven. The water is warm, the sea is generally calm in September and many sites ideal for snorkeling and diving alike. The traders have brought a mixture of food and spices to the island so you will plenty of places to eat, and if not diving, the island offers small authentic villages, spice plantations and historic buildings.
